Toyin Lawani was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on March 1, 1982, to Atinuke Babalola and Olanrewaju Lawani. Olanrewaju Lawani, her father, was a politician who served under General Yakubu Gowon. Her mother, on the other hand, was a successful textile businesswoman in the United States. Her grandfather was as a police commissioner, and her grandmother is the Regent of Ikole Ekiti in Ekiti State. Toyin Lawani graduated from the University of Lagos with a bachelor’s degree in English. In Nigeria, she attended the Oprah Benson Beauty Institute, and in London, she attended the Carlton Beauty Institute. Toyin Lawani graduated from Korea’s John Yim Beauty School with a certificate and a license to practice as a cosmetologist.

Toyin Lawani began her entrepreneurial journey while still a student. She opened a small supermarket, a store, and a spa when she was 16 years old. Toyin Lawani, the CEO of Tiannah Place Empire, started the company. She has built a reputation for herself in the fashion industry through her labels.

Toyin Lawal and Segun Wealth will marry on February 14, 2021. She was first married to Lord Trigg, with whom she had a son named Lord Maine. Tiannah, her daughter, is also her name. In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the Real Housewives of Lagos star said she left home at a young age as a result of an unsavoury experience.
“When I was 15, I got raped by one of my uncles. It was so bad for me. I couldn’t tell my mum. Do you know when someone bullies you to the extent that you can’t talk?
I opened up to one of my aunties, and she took me to Ibadan where they tried to get rid of the pregnancy. The pregnancy was about five months already because I didn’t tell anyone. It was around that time that I was to get admission to UNILAG.
