Some colleges are tuition-free, while others provide tuition discounts to exceptional overseas students. The most popular types of overseas scholarships offered by institutions are full or partial tuition fee waivers. Tuition-based scholarships are a great alternative to fully funded scholarships.
1. UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarships
The UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship is designed to support and encourage low-income overseas students to undertake full-time undergraduate degrees at UCL. Ten awards are given for full tuition and maintenance, and twenty for full tuition. The scholarship is valid for the entire duration of the program.
2. Glasgow’s International Leadership Scholarships
The University of Glasgow is offering 70 International Leadership Scholarships to international (non-EU) students beginning a postgraduate taught Masters course in any discipline for the Academic Session 2021-22. The scholarship is worth £10,000. It is granted as a tuition fee reduction.
3. Leiden University Excellence Scholarships for Non-EU Students.
The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme (LExS) is open to outstanding non-EU/EEA students pursuing master’s degrees at Leiden University. Scholarships are available for the following amounts: €10,000 of the tuition charge, €15,000 of the tuition cost, or the complete tuition fee less the house fee.
4. Radboud Scholarship Programme for Non-EU Students
The Radboud Scholarship Programme provides scholarships to a small number of outstanding non-EEA students to study a full English-taught Master’s degree program at Radboud University Nijmegen. The award is a partial tuition waiver, not a cash gift. Tuition expenses will be waived at the level of EEA students. The Radboud Scholarship also provides funding for visas, residency permits, health insurance, and liability insurance.
5. Lund University offers global scholarships to non-EU/EEA students.
The Lund University Global Scholarship project is designed for outstanding academic students from countries outside of the European Union/European Economic Area (including Switzerland) who want to pursue a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree Program at the University. Scholarships could cover 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of tuition costs.
6. Emily Boutmy Scholarships
The Emile Boutmy Scholarship is given to outstanding international students from outside the EU who are applying to relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s programs at the University. Scholarships can take the form of tuition grants ranging from €5,000 to €10,000 for two years of postgraduate education or €3,000 to €19,000 for three years of undergraduate study.
7. Macquarie Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship
Outstanding students studying undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at Macquarie University’s North Ryde campus are eligible for the Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Award, which covers half of their tuition fees. The award is worth up to AUD $10,000.
8. Bristol University Think Big Scholarships
Bristol University will invest £500,000 to attract the brightest and most talented overseas students to any full-time undergraduate (excluding Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science) or postgraduate program. Scholarships range from 25% to 100% of the tuition charge.
9. Tongarewa Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington.
Victoria University of Wellington provides the Tongarewa Scholarship to qualified international students who are either in their first year of an undergraduate degree or pursuing a postgraduate degree program at the university. The scholarships range from NZ$5,000 to $10,000. This is a partial fee-based scholarship that will cover one year of tuition.
10. Nottingham Developing Solutions Scholarships
The Developing Solutions Scholarships are meant for overseas students from Africa, India, or one of the Commonwealth’s developing countries who want to pursue a Masters Degree at the University of Nottingham while also helping their home country grow. Every year, 105 scholarships are offered, with 30 covering the entire tuition fee and 75 covering half of the tuition cost.
