Following a draw against Canada and a surprising triumph against Australia, the Super Falcons shared points with the Republic of Ireland to advance to the round of 16.
Nigeria dominated Group B with four points and a goal difference ahead of Canada, who had the same number of points as Nigeria. Australia came in third place with three points.
However, Australia won Group B with six points after a 4-0 hammering of Canada, ensuring a place in the last 16.
