The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has revealed that Zack Orji, the ailing film star, is getting better.
The actor passed out in Abuja on Friday and was taken to the hospital. On Sunday, video of Orji in bed appeared, appearing to be writhing in agony.
According to sources, he had been struggling with exhaustion for weeks, making it difficult for him to walk or speak.
Information regarding Orji’s health was still hazy, as the AGN had previously disclosed.
The public was also given the guild’s word that they would keep them updated on any developments.
“It is true. He is currently in the hospital. They are running tests on him,” the AGN had said.
Providing an update on Tuesday, Abubakar Yakubu, the national secretary of the AGN, disclosed that the actor’s condition has improved.
“He is getting better now by God’s grace,” he told TheCable Lifestyle.
Remi Tinubu, the first lady, and Nana Shettima, the wife of the vice president, also visited the ailing actor at the national hospital in Abuja.
They were at the hospital to meet the first baby of the year.
Orji is a prominent name in Nollywood. He is renowned for his roles in films like ‘The Bridge’, ‘Glamour Girls’, and ‘Blood Money’.
The actor has starred in hundreds of movies. Beyond acting, Orji is also a director and film producer.
Orji was appointed a director of performing arts for the presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.
