Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest person, has seen his wealth fall by more than $1 billion this year.
The reduction in the business magnate’s wealth was ascribed primarily to the naira’s depreciation and the recent moderation in the value of his equities assets.
According to Bloomberg data, Dangote ranks 145th among the world’s wealthiest persons.
Dangote has been Africa’s richest person for the past 12 years and completed the year with a net worth of $13.9 billion.
According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index data, his wealth has plummeted by $1.17 billion.
It did, however, highlight that the refinery company had yet to be factored into his value.
