APPLY: Auditions for Nigerian Idol Season 9 Begin

Multichoice Nigeria has opened auditions for the ninth season of Nigerian Idol talent competition.

MultiChoice’s executive head for content and West Africa channels, Busola Tejumola, said that online auditions for the music reality show have begun.

Tejumola said the auditions will run from January 19 to 29.

“The theme for this year’s edition is ‘Dare to Dream’ and interested candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 30 years,” she said.

Tejumola said that contestants should upload a 60-second video of themselves singing any song of their choice on www.africamagic.tv.

“MultiChoice is committed to enabling young talent to actualize their dreams and delivering premium entertainment to our audience. The success of previous editions of Nigerian Idol has encouraged more young Nigerians to dare to dream,” she said.

“Today they are some of the voices that carry our African stories and inspire others to live their dreams. Season nine promises to be bigger and more entertaining than other seasons. Interested contestants can send their entries to the Nigerian Idol portal on our Africa Magic website.”

The Nigerian Idol main program will premiere on DStv and GOtv on May 26.

However, a special two-week extra collection of participants’ auditions will premiere on April 21.

Victory Gbakara won the eighth episode of the music reality show in 2023, receiving a grand prize of N100 million. This comprised a N35 million cash award, a car, and a recording deal.
