Jason Okpocha, the son of Nigerian stand-up comedian Basketmouth, has joined the Liverpool Football Academy in England.
Liverpool Academy is the football club’s youth development system, which focuses on cultivating and training young players for prospective roles in the first squad.
Basketmouth posted a video of Jason arriving to the academy on Instagram on Monday.
He also captioned the post with, “Go make daddy proud boy ❤️ @Liverpoolfccamps👊🏿”.
Jason marked his 15th birthday in May. The comedian also took to social media to celebrate him.
Basketmouth expressed his love and well wishes for his son. He also thanked Jason for always making him proud.
“Happy Birthday son, here is wishing you a glorious and blessed life ahead of you,” he wrote.
“Filled with peace, happiness, love, joy, wealth, great health and God’s special favour. I love you boy.
“Thanks for always making daddy proud.”
Basketmouth started his career in the 1990s.
He has garnered a massive following and numerous accolades through his stand-up comedy performances and tours.
In December 2022, he announced his separation from Elsie Okpocha, his wife, with whom he shares three children: Janelle, Jason, and Maya Okpocha.
