Bimbo Akintola is a talented Nigerian actress. She is prominent in the movie industry, most especially in Yoruba films. She won the Best Actress Award at the Eko International Film Festival in 2015.

Early Life & Education

Bimbo Akintola was born in Edo State on May 5, 1970, to an Oyo State-born father and an Edo State-born mother. She received her elementary schooling at Maryland Convent Private School in Lagos. She also attended Command Day Secondary School in Lagos for her secondary education. Bimbo continued her education at the University of Ibadan, where she received a degree in theater arts.


Bimbo Akintola began performing at a young age. She made her professional acting debut in the 1995 film Owo Blow, alongside Femi Adebayo. She co-starred in Out of Bounds alongside Richard Mofe Damijo in 1997. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards. She has currently appeared in over 40 Nollywood films.

Personal Life

Bimbo Akintola does not have a spouse. Although she got married in 2014, after a year and a month, she left her marriage.
