Chioma Chukwuka Akpota is a 42-year-old Nigerian performer, actress, model, business mogul, and philanthropist better known by her stage name Chioma Chukwuka. Chioma has won awards and acted in films such as The Apple, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, and Wives on Strike 1, among others, over the course of her two-decade career.

Early Life & Education

Chioma Chukwuka was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on March 12, 1980. She is from Oraifite, which is located in Anambra State’s Ekwusigo Local Government Area. She completed her primary education at Onward Nursery and Primary School in Lagos State before transferring to Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha, Anambra State. Chioma then attended Lagos State University to study Banking and Finance (LASU).

Career

Chioma Chukwuka made her acting debut in the film The Apple in 2000. Chioma also acted in the film The Handkerchief in 2000. In 2007, she won the African Movie Academy Award for “Best Actress in a Lead Role” for the film Sins of the Flesh. She was nominated for an African Movie Academy Award for “Best Actress” in the film “Accident” in 2014. During her 20-year career, she has appeared in over 350 Nollywood films, produced six films, and received numerous awards. Chioma has produced or co-produced eight films, including the Oscar-nominated On Bended Knees. Chioma Chukwuka is also a public speaker and a mentor.

Chioma Chukwuka launched Masterclass With Chioma in the first month of 2019. Masterclass With Chioma is a class where aspiring actors, screenwriters, and filmmakers are taught how to break into the film and television industries by industry pros.

Personal life

The actress, who has been married to Franklin Akpotha for almost fifteen years, has kept her marriage very discreet. Unlike other celebrities, she rarely released their images. Fans were concerned when the 42-year-Instagram old’s page returned to her maiden name, ‘Chioma Chukwuka.’
