Davido Announces Release Date for ‘Awuke’ Featuring YG Marley

Davido, an award-winning Nigerian singer, will release his new single ‘Awuke’ on October 31.

The release date for the single, featuring US artist YG Marley, was disclosed in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

He captioned the post, “‘Awuke’ with YG Marley drops on October 31st.” “Get ready for the motion.”

The ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker has been teasing the project for several weeks.

He teased the project during Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day and at American singer Laura Hill’s concert in Paris, France.

‘Awuke’ is Davido’s debut single of the year.

Born David Adeleke, Davido rose to prominence in 2012 with the release of ‘Dami Duro’, the second single from his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.

Since his debut album, he has released three additional projects: ‘A Good Time’ (2019), ‘A Better Time’ (2020), and ‘Timeless’ (2023).

Davido is also the creator of DMW, a record label that launched in April 2016.

Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Dremo are among the artists who have released songs on the label.

In March, Davido renamed the label as DMW 2.0 and introduced two new artists.

Davido has established himself as one of Africa’s most prominent artists, having received numerous prizes.
