The Afrobeats superstar Davido has called off his mission to assist a physically handicapped male hawker who had disguised himself as a woman.
The hawker known as Eniola gained popularity after Brain Jotter, the creator of the skit, released a video of their interaction.
During their talk, Brain Jotter discovered that the street hawker is also a cosmetics artist.
Eniola’s condition moved him, therefore he decided to assist by putting N400,000 to the hawker’s account.
Eniola claimed that she is an Osun native who moved to Lagos to make ends meet.
Reacting to the video via X, Davido brought the attention of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun, to Eniola. He also inquired about her location.
Responding to Davido’s post, Adeleke said he has “directed my office” to get in touch with Eniola.
The governor stated that he would help Eniola “advance her education or improve her makeup skills.”
Soon after, a blogger alleged that the hawker is a man named Sultan who disguised himself as a lady in order to defraud others into handing him money.
“It’s unfortunate that Nigerians fell for this con. According to the group of people who previously assisted the crippled lady, “na man, his name is Sultan, he disguises himself as a woman,” the blogger stated.
Jotter also expressed his dissatisfaction with the hawker.
In response to the revelation of Eniola’s true identity, Davido requested that the Osun governor “abort mission.”
“Excellency dem job us !! Dem say nah man ABORT MISSION,” he wrote on X.
