Davido Reveals How He Scrolled Down over 400 Comments on IG Looking for Morravey

The Afrobeat singer Davido has revealed how he met Morravey and Logos Olori, two new artists signed to DMW, his record label.

In March, Morravey and Logos Olori joined Davido Music Worldwide.

Davido recently stated on the Afrobeats Podcast that he became interested in signing Morravey after listening to her cover of a Fireboy song on Instagram.

The singer said he was drawn to her “unique voice” and couldn’t stop searching for her page on Instagram.

The OBO crooner then said he sent her a direct message telling her she was about to become “a star.”

“The beautiful Morravey with a voice that nobody has. I was home one day on my phone watching Instagram reels,” he said.

“I saw her singing a cover of Fireboy’s song. Her voice was so amazing and I was like who is this girl because she wasn’t tagged on the post?

“I had to go into the comments and scrolled through over 400 comments to look for her name. I finally got her page and sent her a DM.

“I told her I’m going to make you a star. She didn’t believe it, she stopped replying but I told her this is real. She asked if she could call and I called.

“Her family was in the background and she was shocked. I told her I’ll call her back in a week and send her some money.

“I sent her some money to arrange herself and that I’ll send her a flight. I told her to come with a friend or producer or someone closest to her.

“The plan was never for her to be on the album. I’ve started a creative house. The plan was for me to groom her and maybe drop a single in September.

“Her pen game is stupid. She came in and surprised everyone.”

On Logos Olori, Davido said: “He wrote the hook on ‘Available’. I met him through Magic Sticks and Asake.”

“He will always come to the studio every time Magic comes. So on the last day of recording, I asked him how far and he has no platform and I told him to come with me.”
