Haruna Abdullahi is DJ Ab’s full name. He is a well-known Nigerian singer, rapper, disc jockey, and producer from the country’s northern region. He rose to prominence after the release of his hit song Supa.
Early Life & Education
DJ Abba was born on December 30, 1993, in Kaduna State, Nigeria, in the northwestern part of the country. He was born and raised in Kaduna, where he attended primary and secondary school. He attended Federal Government College in Kaduna before continuing on to Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying.
Career
DJ Abba began his musical career in 2011 with the Yaran North Side (YNS) group. In 2011, the group purchased musical instruments and began creating beats as well as recording vocal samples. Later, he released hit songs such as Su Baba ne, Yar Boko, Babarsa, Her love, Soyayya, and others.
DJ Abba performed at the 2015 Kadafeast alongside M.I. Abaga, Yemi Alade, Morell, 9ice, 2 Baba, Patoranking, and many others. This is when he began to gain widespread recognition in Nigeria’s music industry. Mr. Eazi’s company, Empawa Africa, recently signed Dj Abba. This makes him the first Arewa artist to be signed by Empawa, which frequently houses the best musicians, such as Joeboy, Dj Neptune, and others. DJ Abba’s number-one single, Supa, was released in 2021.
