DSS Director General Bichi Resigns

The Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, has resigned.

On Monday, Ajuri Ngelale, President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, announced his resignation in a statement.

Ngelale also announced the nomination of new Directors-General for the DSS and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), whose DG, Ahmed Abubakar, resigned to the President on Saturday.

Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi succeeds Bichi as DSS Director-General, and Mohammed Mohammed succeeds Abubakar as NIA Director-General.

Bichi established a stable career in the DSS, rising to the highest rank.

He worked in a variety of posts, including State Director of Security (SDS) in Jigawa, Niger, Sokoto, and Abia states.

He also served as a Director in all of the National Headquarters Directorates, including Security Enforcement, Operations, Intelligence, Inspectorate, Administration and Finance, National Assembly Liaison, and the State Services Academy in Lagos, which is one of the Service’s training institutes.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Bichi as DG of the DSS in September 2018.
