Everything You Need To Know About Nigerian Actress, Kehinde Bankole

Kehinde Bankole, a Nigerian actress, was born on March 27, 1985. She enjoys modeling and has appeared on several television shows. She first competed in the Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Excellence competition in 2003, and then in the 2004 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria show (MBGN). In 2009, two years after her most memorable screen highlight in Wale Adenuga’s Super Story, she won the Best of Nollywood Awards at the revelation of the year award. In 2022, she also played a pivotal role in the recently released ‘Blood Sisters’ film series.

Early Life & Education

Kehinde Bankole was born in Ogun State as the fourth of six children to architect Babatunde Bankole and administrative secretary Titilayo Bankole. Taiwo, her twin sister, is also an actress who appears on occasion. She finished elementary school at Tunwase Nursery and Primary School in Ikeja. Kehinde then attended Olabisi Onabanjo University to study mass communication. She took a sabbatical in 2004 to focus on her modeling career.

Career

Kehinde Bankole got her first taste of fame when she auditioned for a reality show. Kehinde was nominated for Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, but she did not make the top five. Sylvia Udeogu and Olaide Olaogun were chosen alongside Bakonle to become the new faces of Lux in 2007 after their outstanding and flawless performances in the Super Story drama: Everything It Takes. During this time, Kehinde made her acting debut.

She also appeared in Wale Adenuga’s works, Papa Ajasco, and This Life, among others. She’s also been in Nollywood films, including Two Brides and a Baby, The Meeting, Awakening, and, most recently, October 1. Bankole has high ambitions for the future.

Kehinde Bankole has acted in roles from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre to Nigerian blockbuster flicks. She plays Funmilayo Ransome Kuti in the biographical film about the historical African political figure Funmilayo Ransom Kuti. She has also appeared in Netflix Original Series “Blood Sisters“, a new cinematic release.
