Abimbola Oshin, better known as Bimbo Oshin, is a Nigerian film actress, entrepreneur, and film producer. She is an award-winning actress who has appeared in several films. In 2020, Bimbo launched her fashion line, “Dashing by Bimbo Oshin.” She is married to Ola Ibironke, also known as Dudu Heritage, a popular movie producer.
Early Life and Education
Bimbo Oshin was born on July 24, 1971, in the Nigerian city of Ondo. Bimbo Oshin was raised in Ondo State and attended Saint Anne’s Primary School in Oke Agunla, Ondo State, for her primary education. She later attended Staff Primary School in Ile-Ife, Osun State. She completed her secondary education at Girls Academy, Sandgrouse, Lagos Island, Lagos State, where she also obtained her SSCE. Bimbo Oshin’s next academic adventure for higher education took her to the University of Lagos, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy.
Career
Bimbo Oshin developed an early interest in acting. She and her older sibling had been acting out some minor drama at home while filming their fictitious films. She did, however, begin her acting career as an undergraduate at the University of Lagos. The sister of one of her friends introduced her to the Ara Osan Group. She informed her of her decision and encouraged her to do the same. Bimbo agreed, became a member of the crew (Ara Osan), and began attending practices in 1996.
For four years, she worked for her boss, Rasaq Ajao, the owner of the Ara Osan Theatre Organisation. Despite beginning her film career with English soap operas, she is now enjoying success in the Yoruba film industry. Her first film, “Akobi,” released in 1997, is credited with popularizing her. In 2001, he appeared in “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!” from Wale Adenuga’s Super Story TV series alongside Sola Sobowale, Bukky Wright, Antar Laniyan, and many other well-known actors.
A Yoruba film titled Eji Owuro was produced by Bimbo Oshin two years later. In addition, she appeared in the 2012 Yoruba film Omo Elemosho with Fausat Balogun, Lanre Hassan, Toyin Abraham, and other well-known actors. Bimbo Oshin also worked on a popular 2020 film “Kakanfo.”
Personal Life
Bimbo Oshin is married to Lagos-based promoter Ola Ibironke (Dudu Heritage). She married him in 2003, and the couple is blessed with two kids. On September 13, 2021, she lost him to the cold hands of death.
Bimbo also has a fashion business, “Dashing by Bimbo Oshin,” where she swells Senegalese wears.
