Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy

For its previously announced Build-A-Thon initiative program, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy is looking for educators, teachers, and enthusiasts in Maiduguri, Owerri, and Abeokuta.

In order to foster tech innovation and expose senior secondary school students to the maker culture, Build-A-Thon has partnered with the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Prior to this, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, discussed the Build-A-Thon initiative and its objective, which is to offer students a four-day immersive learning experience in January 2024. The program, which emphasizes problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking, is a component of a larger strategy to encourage early technology adoption and develop the next generation of innovators.

Build-A-Thon is a project that aims to honor outstanding teams in various categories, including the most inventive design, the most environmentally friendly product, and a prize for the most useful creation. Highlighting creative ideas, honoring successes, encouraging future teamwork, motivating the next generation of leaders, and encouraging lifelong learning are some of the objectives.
