Film Production Among 18 KWASU Programmes Validated by NUC

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to 18 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offered by Kwara State University.

According to NAN, the state university’s interim director of public relations, Saeedat Aliyu, confirmed this in a statement.

Aliyu stated that KWASU sought for programme accreditation with the NUC during the commission’s October/November 2023 cycle.

He stated that the accreditation of 18 KWASU programmes was communicated to Vice-Chancellor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh via letter.

The letter, dated June 6, 2024, was signed by Abraham Chundusu, acting director of accreditation.

According to Aliyu, six postgraduate and 12 undergraduate programmes have been granted five-year accreditation.

The programs include Public Health, Film Studies and Production, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Fine and Applied Arts.

Others include Chemistry, Plant and Environmental Biology, Political Science, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Mass Communication.

The post-graduate programs include M.Sc. Accounting, M.Sc. Business Administration, Masters in Business Administration, M.Sc. Finance, M.Sc. Public Administration, and a Masters in Public Administration.

Aliyu reported the vice-chancellor as saying that the outcome reflected the devotion of the university’s management and workers.

Kwara State University is a state-owned public research tertiary institution located in Malete, Kwara, Nigeria.

It is said to be the 77th university registered by NUC and the 95th to be recognized in Nigeria.
