Former Alaafin’s Son, Prince Abdulfatai Dies at 47

Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi, son of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the immediate past Alaafin of Oyo, has died. He was 47 years old.


He died in the early hours of Friday at the University Teaching Hospital in Ibadan after a brief illness.


Prince Adeyemi, often known as D-Gov., was alleged to have been ill for a time.


He ran for the Oyo Federal Constituency on the Peoples Democratic Party platform in 2019, but was defeated by his brother, Prince Akeem Adeyemi, also known as Skimme.


Gov. Seyi Makinde nominated Late Adeyemi as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board during the Omituntun 1.0 government.
