I Have Been Battling With A ‘Brain Disease’ – Actor Bisola Badmus

In an Instagram post, Nollywood Yoruba actress Bisola Badmus revealed her struggle with “encephalopathy,” a brain ailment.

Encephalopathy is a brain dysfunction or disease characterized by a variety of neurological symptoms such as cognitive dysfunction, altered consciousness, and behavioral changes.

According to her Tuesday post, she has been dealing with the sickness for over a year, dealing with the difficulties of a condition that alters mental processes, producing bewilderment and a deviation from one’s regular demeanor.

“Over a year now I have been battling with health issues (Encephalopathy). I cannot even wish my enemy such illness. It was a tough one indeed that made me stay away from social media,” her Instagram post read.

In her statement, the actress extended gratitude to her family, friends, industry colleagues, business associates, and the brands she represents for assisting her through this “tough period.”

She also described losing her mother at this tough period, which made the trek even “more difficult.”

Despite her health issues and personal grief, Badmus expressed gratitude to a “unquestionable God” for allowing her to witness the dawn of a new era.

“In between, I lost my precious mother. Unquestionable God, I thank you for everything, particularly for me to witness yet another birthday,” her post read.

“I will be an ungrateful soul if I fail to appreciate my family and friends, colleagues in the industry, business associates and the brands I represent for standing by me during the challenging period. My colleagues in the movie industry and business associates, the brands I represent, thank you all once.”
