Chukie Edozien, better known by his stage name Lynxxx, is a Nigerian musician and entrepreneur. His song debuted on Change Your Parade in 2009, and his debut album was released in 2010. Prior to his hiatus in 2015, he had released more hit singles and was enjoying great success in the music industry. He briefly returned to music in 2016 and appears to have fully returned in 2019 with the release of an official single, “She Likes.” He is the founder of the Jollof Musik genre, which he defines as “an artful blend of music to create great music.”
Early Life and Education
On November 24, 1983, Chukie Edozien was born. He is Chief John D. Edozien’s lone son, a former vice governor of Nigeria’s then-Old Bendel State. He is a Delta State native.
Lynxxx attended Corona Primary School in Ikoyi and Kings College in Lagos for his primary and secondary education, respectively. He then went to the University of Hull in the United Kingdom, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, and marketing.
Career
Lynxxx sings a Jollof song. He defines Jollof Musik as the art of combining various musical styles to produce good music. After ten years in the shadows, he made his public debut in 2009 with the song “Change Your Parade.” The song was a hit, propelling him to fame. It received positive reviews as well as a lot of radio play and nightclub exposure.
Following the success of this and a few other songs, Lynxxx released his debut album, This Is Lynxxx, in 2010. The album was a fusion of various musical styles. Some of them are urban hip hop, modern R&B, and the addition of funky houses. Wizkid, Banky W, Naeto C, Efya, General PYPE, R2Bees, and other guest artists appeared on the album. Lynxxx was the first Nigerian musician to receive a Pepsi endorsement the same year.
In addition, he released Jollof Musik, his second studio album, in 2015, and The Album Before The Album, his third studio album, in 2016. Lynxxx released She Likes as part of his new EP project, Summer Time Vibes. It was produced by Spax Classic and featured vocals by Boj.
In addition to his singing career, Lynxxx has a successful business career. Prior to beginning his musical career, he established a number of profitable businesses, including Syndik8 Denim, a digital recording studio, Red Room Studio, Happy Teddy Media (HTM), and Syndik8 Films.
Lynxxx is a brand developer, web designer, and graphics designer who served as a judge at The Pitch Nigeria 2019. Pitch Nigeria is a competition sponsored by Sterling Bank for aspiring business owners to present their venture ideas. The top competitor in the event receives N10 million. He also established a media company that handles advertising and corporate branding. He is also the owner of The Arena, a company that develops applications and provides mobile solutions, among other things.
Personal Life
In 2015, Lynxxx committed his life to Christ. He then put music on hold in order to focus on his company and his growing religion. But in 2016, he briefly returned with the release of the gospel song “Serve You.” He is currently single and not known to be in any serious relationships.
