‘Mera Na’, the posthumous song of Sidhu Moose Wala, the late Indian singer, has become the number 1 trending for YouTube’s music video category.
The music video features Burna Boy, the Afro-fusion star, and Steel Banglez, the British-Indian producer.
‘Mera Na’ was released on Wala’s official YouTube page on Friday.
“My brother @sidhu_moosewala I remember when we first recorded this song at my studio and you told me I would never forget it,” Banglez wrote via his Instagram page.
“At the time I didn’t understand what you meant by that, but now myself and the whole world will know.
“Me and your brother the African giant @burnaboygram made this our priority to get ‘Mera Na’ out worldwide in loving memory for you, your family and the fans.
“I feel so blessed and honoured to have two of the biggest icons in the world on one record together. Fusing two cultures to create the monster record that is ‘Mera Na’ (Your Name Lives Forever). This Friday 7th April.”
The visuals for ‘Mera Na’ sees Burna Boy in the studio rapping about his own journey to the limelight.
Within four hours of release, the song garnered 4.9 million views on Youtube.
As of the time of this report, ‘Mera Na’ has raked in 8,927,847 views and nearly two million likes on YouTube.
According to Kworb, the website collects and analyzes music data from around the world, ‘Mera Na’ is currently the number one most-viewed video on YouTube in the past 24 hours.

Moose Wala was murdered during a shooting in May 2022.
In November 2022, Steel Banglez and Burna Boy met with Moose Wala’s family to inform them of their plans to release ‘Mera Na’.
