Nigerian Businessman Sayyu Dantata Eyes Sale of Lavish Banana Island Mansion

Sayyu Dantata, founder and CEO of MRS Holdings and half-brother of Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, is considering selling his luxurious Banana Island property. The magnificent mansion in Lagos is well-known for its magnificence, with a unique design that combines two independent portions into one expansive compound.

The prominent businessman, known for his penchant for luxury and ostentatious properties, is said to be considering a return to his hometown of Kano State. His desire to relocate has spurred his decision to sell his Banana Island estate, and he intends to complete the transaction as soon as feasible.

Sayyu Dantata, who began his career as the Director of Dangote Group’s Engineering and Transport Division, has established himself in the commercial world. He is an ardent polo player and the only Nigerian businessman who owns his own helicopter, which he frequently uses to navigate the Lagos metropolis and avoid the city’s terrible traffic. Aside from a private jet, Dantata’s lavish assets reflect his successful career and desire for extravagance.

Dantata owns 60 percent of MRS Oil Nigeria through his investment holding firm, MRS Africa Holdings, which equates to 205,730,806 ordinary shares. The corporation is a major player in Nigeria’s petroleum industry, focusing on refined goods like gasoline, marine fuels, and aviation fuels.

MRS Oil Nigeria, with activities in West African countries such as Benin, Togo, Cameroon, and Cote d’Ivoire, is one of Nigeria’s top fifty most valued firms on the Nigerian Exchange.

MRS Oil Nigeria Plc’s revenue increased by 80.9 percent during Sayyu Dantata’s leadership, from N100.78 billion ($62.36 million) in 2022 to N182.31 billion ($112.8 million) in the fiscal year ended December 31, 2023. This significant gain is mostly due to an increase in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pricing over the year, which pushed PMS sales from N85.84 billion ($53.1 million) in 2022 to N161.74 billion ($100.1 million) in 2023.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC) granted multimillion-dollar contracts for pipeline rehabilitation in October 2023, aiming to revitalize the country’s aged infrastructure. MRS Oil Nigeria Plc was among the recipients, demonstrating Sayyu Dantata’s influence on the country’s oil sector.
