Faith Onodu, a Nigerian lady, has won $25,000 (more than N25 million) after participating in a social media giveaway contest.
MrBeast, an American YouTuber and online personality, has announced that his debut video on X earned him almost $250,000.
MrBeast, actual name Jimmy Donaldson, published what looked to be a screenshot of X’s author payment screen, revealing that the post had earned $263,655.
After receiving payment from X, MrBeast announced plans to distribute his earnings to ten people.
“I am gonna give 10 random people that repost this and follow me $25,000 for fun (the $250,000 my X video made). I will pick the winners in 72 hours,” he wrote on X.
On Friday, the YouTuber announced the winners of the giveaway, one of whom is Onodu, a Nigerian lady.
Onodu, also known as Lifestyle Spicer, is a nutritionist, fitness trainer, content creator and YouTuber.
Reacting in a post via her X page, Onodu expressed her excitement for winning the cash, describing it as “unreal”.
“Someone wake me up, I can’t believe my eyes! This is unreal,” she said.
MrBeast is well-known for his fast-paced and high-quality movies, which include complicated challenges and hefty giveaways.
With over 234 million subscribers, he is the most subscribed YouTube user and the second-most subscribed channel overall.
In July of last year, Elon Musk, the owner of X, started a scheme to share revenue from adverts displayed in the answers to high-performing content with authors who subscribe to the platform’s premium subscription.
The program aims to encourage more producers to share high-quality material on X that would be desirable to advertisers.
