Aisha Achimugu, an Abuja-based businesswoman, celebrated her 50th birthday in the Caribbean island of Grenada last week with a lavish party.
Aisha turned 50 on January 22. To commemorate her golden jubilee, the socialite went all out for a seven-day celebration filled with multiple events that saw visitors shift between Calivigny Island and Silversand, a small and luxury resort located on the beaches of Grand Anse Beach, Grenada.
The party, which began on January 16, was reportedly attended by some of Nigeria’s top entertainers and important individuals, including a governor.

On the first day, guests came, settled down, and relaxed after their journeys. The second day included a welcome meal, a tour of the resort, and mingling.
Kayaking, swimming, and treasure searching were all slated for the third day, while visitors dressed up in African clothing for the special performances, which included a drum dance on the fourth day. There was also a bonfire as visitors gathered for a night of warmth and song.
On the fifth day, attendees enjoyed performances by a local band, a variety of cocktails, and a retro dance party, while on the sixth day, they went on an island tour.
The seventh day (January 23) concluded with an all-white breakfast and a sumptuous dinner themed ‘glitz and glam’ before the visitors said their goodbyes to Grenada.
It was stated that Achimugu paid over $1 million (more than N1 billion) to rent the island for a week.
A night at Silversands Resort costs $1,060 (N1,378,000) per person.
Calvigny Island costs approximately $30,000 (N39 million) each night for the entire island. Prices for the private island can range from $30,000 to $165,000 each night, depending on the time of year.

The entrepreneur also developed an eponymous website – ‘aishaachimugu50th.com’ — just for the birthday celebration. The website includes information regarding visa arrangements, standby chauffeurs, travel schedules, and the nearest airport to the event venue, among other things.
On January 26 at 6 p.m., Aisha will hold another birthday party at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. The next day, the International Conference Centre will host a dinner party beginning at 8:30 p.m.
WHO IS AISHA ACHIMUGU?
Aisha is the managing director/CEO of Felak Concept Group. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Jos in Nigeria.
She was also given an honorary doctorate by Commonwealth University in Belize.
Aisha married Sulaiman Akao Achimugu, and they have three children.
However, her husband died in 2020. Sulaiman was claimed to have died of COVID-19 complications.
