Nigerian Rapper, Phyno Welcomes First Child

Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, the Nigerian rapper better known as Phyno, has welcomed his first child.

The 36-year-old singer shared a picture of himself holding his newborn via Instagram on Monday.

The rapper, who had been on a short music hiatus, said he “took some time off to be a father”.

He added that he has been working on a music project while describing the experience as “wholesome”.

“I took some time off to be a Father and also work on new music / Album and it’s been a wholesome experience. Now it’s time to get back to what I do best ❤️,” he wrote.

Phyno, however, did not reveal when and with whom he had the child.

He also did not reveal the gender of the baby.

A slew of celebrities and well-wishers have filled the post’s comments section with compliments for the rapper.

Phyno began his career as a producer in 2003 and is well-known for rapping in Igbo. He also uses some Nigerian Pidgin and English.

He’s shared the stage alongside Wizkid, Davido, Timaya, Flavour, Ruggedman, Bracket, J. Martins, and Mr Raw.

Phyno previously stated that he spits his bars in his native tongue because he values his culture and enjoys being himself.

He has received several awards and recognitions for his craft.
