Nigerian Singer, Asa, Set to Put Out First Single in Two Years

Nigerian artist Bukola Elemide, also known as Asa, will release her debut single in two years, titled ‘Odo’.

The ‘Bibanke’ hitmaker announced the track’s release date via social media on Tuesday.

Sharing a snippet of the song, she captioned the video: “Let me love you. Odo out February 1”.

Asa last released any project on February 25, 2022 — which was ‘V‘, her fifth studio album.

The 41-year-old singer rose to prominence with the publication of her debut hit, ‘Eyé Adaba’, in 2006.

Shortly after releasing the track, she signed with Naive Records, a Paris-based indie record label.

Asa quickly formed a partnership with Cobhams Asuquo, a Nigerian singer and musical producer whom she met through her manager, Janet Nwose.

Shortly after her debut album ‘Asa’ went platinum in 2008, she was selected best fresh talent among 10 singers or groups by a jury of 19 music-industry executives in Paris.

Her second album, ‘Beautiful Imperfection’, which she collaborated on with Nicolas Mollard, was released in October 2010.

Asa’s third studio album, ‘Bed of Stone’, was released in August 2014, and she embarked on a worldwide tour from 2015 to 2017.

In 2019, she released her fourth album, ‘Lucid’.
