Mr. Funny, also known as Oga Sabinus, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, content creator, and social media influencer who was born on January 30, 1995. Oga Sabinus won the Best Online Social Content Creators Award at the AMVCA 8th Edition.
Early Life & Education
Mr. Funny was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ejekwu in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He received his primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the University of Port Harcourt.
Career
Mr. Funny began his career in 2015, but he rose to prominence in 2019. He was nominated alongside fellow comedian Basketmouth in the inaugural edition of The Humour Awards Academy in 2021. Mr. Funny discovered his comedic talent at a young age and immediately put it to use. While at university, he began to regularly perform comedy skits. This occurred during a School Student Union week in 2015.
Oga Sabinus decided to take his comedy to the next level by posting a lot of comedy skits on his social media accounts, especially Instagram. He drew the attention of well-known Instagram influencers, who began sharing his skits. Mr. Funny quickly grew a large following of people who liked and commented on his posts.
His celebrity has attracted a lot of attention and brands. He is the brand ambassador for Oddstackr, a popular betting site. Mr Ibu and Charles Inojie are two of his role models who have influenced him in his comedy career.
Mr. Funny has also appeared in notable Nollywood films such as ‘Billionaire’s Bride’ and ‘Man of War,’ among others.
