Actor Gabriel Afolayan was born in Nigeria on March 1st, 1985. He is the son of Mr. Adeyemi Afolayan, often known as “Adelove,” who is regarded as a legend in Nigerian Nollywood. Gabriel also sings, and he is most known for using the musical alias “G-Fresh.”
Early Life
Gabriel Afolayan is a native of Kwara State’s Agbamu Local Government Area in Irepodun. He was born at Lagos Island’s Island Maternity in the early 1980s, however he was raised in Ibadan. He went to Ibadan for his elementary, secondary, and university studies.
Career & Education
He made his acting career debut in 1990, with the movie ‘F Opawon ‘, a movie written by Baba Sala. Gabriel started gaining a star when he featured in the movie, Madam Dearest written by Tade Ogidan, and the popular TV series ‘Super Story’ written by Wale Adenuga. Since then, he has acted in different movies and has received many awards and nominations.
Being talented in singing, Gabriel Afolayan participated in the chorus of his church. Throughout his musical career, his passion for music has been his driving force. Gabriel started performing as a backing singer at the Phoenix Studio in Ibadan in 1997.
Gabriel Afolayan studied theatre arts at the University of Ibadan (U.I. ), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in the field. He continues his education in the performing arts at the London-based Identity Drama School in Brixton.
Personal Life
Gabriel Afolayan got married to Adebanke on April 5th, 2018 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
After some years of marriage, the issue of cheating arose, and there was a rumour started by Instagram blogger, Gistlover that Adebanke Afolayan was cheating with Banky W.
In an interview with City People, Gabriel Afolayan revealed that the marriage is back on track again.
As of this moment, Gabriel Afolayan and his wife have no children.
