Paris Olympics: Team Nigeria Disqualified From Men’s 4x400m Final

Nigeria has been disqualified from the 4x400m men’s relay final at the Paris Olympic Games.

Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie finished heat 2 with a season’s best time of 2 minutes, 59.81 seconds.

France won the race in 2 minutes 59.53 seconds, while Belgium finished third automatically in 2 minutes 59.84 seconds.

However, one of the Nigerian runners was found to have crossed lanes, causing a South African runner to trip.

South Africa has taken the slot previously held by Nigeria.

Nigerian athletes want to follow in the footsteps of the 1984, 2000, and 2004 teams, which won bronze, gold, and bronze medals at the games held in Los Angeles, Sydney, and Athens, respectively.
