Prime Energy Drink Co-founded by KSI Set to Hit over $1.2 Billion in Sales

KSI is a co-founder of Prime, a popular energy drink in the United States. The YouTuber created Prime with fellow YouTuber Logan Paul. According to The Guardian, the energy drink became an instant hit after its release in 2022, generating huge lineups in grocery shops and stories of schoolyard resale markets.

The energy drink has progressed from an underdog beverage to one of the industry’s top products. The company made $250 million in sales its first year and is currently on course to make more than $1.2 billion this year.

The anticipated achievement followed significant sponsorships with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB), and England’s Arsenal Football Club. Athletes that have endorsed the company include Auston Matthews of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and Alisha Lehmann of the Swiss soccer team Ashton Villa.

“We never expected to be as big as it has become,” KSI told Bloomberg. “I know people who don’t know me or Logan. They just know Prime.”

Meanwhile, the energy drink firm said in an Instagram post that it has sold one billion bottles, utilizing the social media prowess of the co-founders, who combined have 40 million followers.

Despite its success, the energy drink has recently come under fire. Senator Chuck Schumer requested that the Food and Drug Administration investigate Prime’s caffeine levels four months ago.

“One of the summer’s hottest status symbols for kids is not an outfit, or a toy – it’s a beverage,” said Schumer, a Democrat from New York. “But buyer and parents beware because it’s a serious health concern for the kids it so feverishly targets.”

Meanwhile, the business defended the product, saying it was clearly labeled “not recommended for children under the age of 18” in a statement to the Guardian.
