Shehu Usman Abdullahi (born March 12, 1993) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays for Bulgarian First League club Levski Sofia as a defender and also for the Nigerian national team, Super Eagles.
Shehu Abdullahi was born in Sokoto, Nigeria on the 12th of March, 1993. He was born and raised among the Hausa tribe of Nigeria. He attended his educational background in Sokoto state, which falls in the North-Western geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
In a contract for $480,000, of which Abdullahi received $330,000 and Kano Pillars received $150,000, Abdullahi relocated from Kano Pillars to Qadsia SC in July 2014. On June 6, 2015, Shehu agreed to a two-year contract with C.F. Unio, a recently promoted Primeira Liga team.
On September 2, Shehu agreed to a two-year deal with the Cypriot team Anorthosis Famagusta for a fee equal to 20% of the player’s player resale fee to another European club. On January 24, 2018, he signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Turkish team Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee.
On September 19, 2020, Shehu joined Omonia of the Cyprus First Division. On September 16, 2022, he committed to Levski Sofia for the duration of the 2022–23 campaign.
In January 2014, Shehu Abdullahi received an invitation from coach Stephen Keshi on behalf of Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship. He helped Nigeria beat Zimbabwe 1-0 to take third place overall.
Shehu was one of the 35 preliminary members of the 2016 Summer Olympics’ Nigerian Olympic team. In May of that year, he was included to the first 30-man Nigerian team traveling to Russia for the FIFA World Cup.
