Sylvester Madu is a Nigerian film actor, director, filmmaker, and pastor best known for roles such as Rambo and James Bond. He began acting at a young age and has remained active in the film industry even after becoming a pastor. The alive and well actor is best known for his roles in films such as Runaway Bride and Wedding Pandemonium. He has no military background, but Madu plays the tough guy in movies perfectly; he is either the heroic hitman or the savage militant.
Early Life and Education
Sylvester Madu was born in his native Nigeria on January 11, 1975. Madu is the first child of his parents’ twelve children and was born and raised in Anambra State (a state in southern Nigeria). Sylvester had a memorable childhood growing up in a family of eleven siblings, as he almost always had someone to play with.
Sylvester received both his primary and secondary school education in Anambra State, where he earned both his First School Leaving Certificate and his West African Examination Certificate. Sylvester Madu attended the prestigious University of Maiduguri in Borno State after finishing secondary school and earning his first degree. He entered the film industry after earning his bachelor’s degree, a credential that wasn’t particularly valuable in the entertainment industry.
Career
The Nigeria James Bond, as he is affectionately known, began acting in school drama as young as five years old. He is best known for his roles in a number of blockbuster films, including Rambo and James Bond. With his level of weapon proficiency, he resembles a Gestapo hitman. He began his professional acting career in 1998, following his first degree in Nollywood.
Sylvester has directed and acted in over 250 Nollywood movies after being in the movie industry for over two decades, Sylvester has featured in movies with popular Nigerian actors and actresses like Van Vicker, Emma Ehumadu, Gentle Jack, Hanks Anuku, Jerry Amilo, Junior Pope Odonwodo, Tonto Dikeh, Zubby Michael, Ernest Asuzu, Jim Iyke, Alaso Wariboko, Olu Jacobs among others.

Personal Life
On December 14, 2019, Sylvester Madu married Nollywood actress and producer Ifeayinwa Ubah. Furthermore, Sylvester is now the full-time pastor of Christ Embassy Church in Surulere, Lagos State, on Eric Moore Road. He primarily decided to become a pastor after surviving a fatal car accident in 2015.
Despite the fact that he is now a full-time pastor, Sylvester continues to act through his self-titled film production company, “Sylvester Madu Creation.”
