MainOne, a subsidiary of Equinix, is a significant West African data center and connectivity solutions provider with operations in Nigeria, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire. Galaxy Backbone Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Federal Government of Nigeria that provides information and communications technology (ICT) services. Galaxy Backbone’s common services platform is still being operated, improved, and upgraded to meet international standards.
When GBB first began operations in 2006, its primary goal was to assist minimize and eventually eliminate the silos that existed in government as a result of the various and costly method in which technology operations were supplied across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
