Titi Kuti is a popular Nigerian actor, producer, model, and television host best known for his role in King of Boys: The Return of the King. He has also hosted several other TV shows, including Nigerian Idol, Nigeria’s Got Talent, and Looking for Love Naija.
Early Life and Education
Titilope Kuti was born in Lagos on July 30, 1980, and raised in Surulere and Lagos Island. He attended primary and secondary school in Lagos State, Nigeria, before enrolling in a tertiary institution. He graduated with a B.Sc. from Lagos State University in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management
Career
Kuti began making waves while still an undergraduate. He debuted as a model in 2005, when he was chosen to appear on billboards for Conoil and MTN Nigeria. He quickly walked the runways for Benson & Hedges and the St. Moritz style awards. Kuti began his career with Nigezie, where he learned production and media skills from the VMN team and managing director of Virtual Media Network, Femi Aderibigbe.
Kuti worked as a presenter, producer, and resource for Nigezie TV for the channel’s communications department. In 2009, he began hosting The Top Ten Countdown Show on Nigezie Xtreme (formerly Nigezie TV), a music countdown show. He later became its producer. Emerald, his first TV series, was shot in 2010. In 2021, he made his film debut in the Netflix Original Series King of Boys: The Return of the King, directed by Kemi Adetiba and starring Sola Sobowale. Following a brief appearance as Ade Tiger in the Netflix Original King of Boys in 2018, On December 7, 2021, he provided coverage for volume 1 of issue 43 of The Will Downtown Magazine.
Kuti debuted as a co-host on the reality TV show Stakers Championship in January 2022, alongside Uti Nwachukwu and Liquorose.
Glo Naija Sings, Nigerian Idol, Nigeria’s Got Talent (seasons 1 and 2), Football Legends Nigeria, and the reality show Tecno Own The Stage are among his production credits. Kuti transitioned from modeling to film production. He produced three seasons of the M-Net television series Hustle for Africa Magic from 2016 to 2018. He joined Smart Media Production in 2018 as an associate producer for the reality show Looking for Love Naija.
Personal Life
Titi keeps his personal life private and out of reach of the media and the general public. In an interview, he stated that he is not Fela Kuti’s hidden son, but that his father, Tunde Kuti, is Fela Kuti’s brother.
