UBA Hosts Workshop on Building Generational Businesses

The United Bank for Africa (UBA), led by Nigerian entrepreneur Tony Elumelu, is poised to hold a new edition of its Business Series, with a focus on helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to establish firms that will endure and prosper for generations.

The upcoming session, titled “Built to Last: Building Generational Business,” will take place on Thursday at the UBA House in Marina, Lagos, and will also be available virtually.

This edition seeks to recognize firms who have showed resilience and adaptation over time. Shamsideen Fashola, UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, underlined the value of learning from entrepreneurs who have founded successful firms.

“This edition provides a platform for SMEs to learn from experienced entrepreneurs who have built and sustained businesses through the decades,” according to Fashola.

Alero Ladipo, UBA Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, emphasized the bank’s commitment to serving its varied customer base.

“At UBA, we are committed to empowering businesses of all sizes, and this business series is one way we are fulfilling that commitment,” Ladipo told reporters.

The event will feature a panel of respected speakers, including Flora Mutahi, Atunyota Akpobome (Ali Baba), Tolani Tayo-Osikoya (Chef T), and Kelechi Amadi-Obi, who will offer their thoughts on developing long-lasting enterprises.

The UBA Business Series is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote the growth and sustainability of MSMEs throughout Africa.

UBA gives practical advice on running successful firms, particularly in challenging situations, through monthly seminars and workshops hosted by notable business experts.

This program seeks to provide SMEs with the knowledge they need to develop sustainable enterprises that will thrive for generations.
