UI, UNILAG Make List Of Top 10 Universities In Africa

The University of Ibadan (UI) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have been listed among Africa’s top ten universities.

According to the Times Higher Education’s most recent ranking of world universities, two Nigerian colleges are among the top 10 in Africa.

The 2023 World University rankings rank the University of Ibadan seventh in Africa and the University of Lagos ninth on the continent, encompassing 104 countries and regions.

According to the rankings, the University of Cape Town is Africa’s top university, followed by Stellenbosch University and the University of Witwatersrand.

Globally, the University of Oxford leads the rating for the ninth year in a row, although others in the top five have shifted positions.

Harvard University now ranks second, while the University of Cambridge drops to third.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 feature 1,799 universities, making it the largest and most diversified ranking to date.

This year’s ranking analyzed approximately 121 million citations from 15.5 million research papers, including survey responses from 40,000 experts worldwide.
