UNILAG Lecturers Win $15,000 Curriculum Grant Funded by American Company

Drs. O.T. Olakoyejo, O.O. Adewumi, and A.O. Adelaja, three teachers at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), have been awarded the $15,000 ANSYS Funded Curriculum Grant Award.

The grant was given, according to a university statement, for the creation/development of novel undergraduate engineering curricula or the modification of current courses to include Ansys simulation.

The instructors are from the Faculty of Engineering’s Mechanical Engineering Department.

According to HowNG, ANSYS is a multinational corporation based in the United States that creates and sells software for multiphysics engineering simulation and computer-aided engineering (CAE) used in product design, testing, and operation.

The business simulates the effects of stress, strength, temperature distribution, thermal conductivity, elasticity, fluid flow, air flow, and other factors on 3D models, constructions, or machine part designs.

Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, commended the three academics on their accomplishment.

According to Professor Ogunsola, she anticipated that they will undoubtedly enhance the curriculum, innovate the teaching methodology, and support student learning outcomes at the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Faculty of Engineering.
