Tayo Adeleye, the Nigerian actor resident in the United States, has lost his wife, Shantal Sakwe Adeleye.
The actor confirmed his wife’s death on Instagram on Tuesday.
He provided video footage from the funeral and old images of them together.
In an accompanying caption, he wrote, “Forever etched in my heart, you were my guiding light, my partner in laughter and tears. Your absence is deeply felt, yet your love continues to illuminate my path. Until we meet again, my beloved wife, rest peacefully in the arms of eternity. #InLovingMemory #ForeverMissed“.
Tayo, on the other hand, did not say what caused her death or when she died.
Fans and colleagues of the actor have left condolence messages on the post’s comments section.
Tayo and Shantal were married in December 2020.
He marked his wife’s birthday on August 30, 2023.
The actor characterized Shantal as his source of joy, saying he considers himself fortunate to be her husband.
“Happy birthday to the woman who fills my heart with joy and love,” he wrote.
“You brighten my darkest days, and I am blessed to call you my wife. May your birthday be filled with sweet moments and cherished memories.God bless your new age.”
Beyond acting, Tayo is also a writer and filmmaker.
He is known for movies such as ‘Boss of All Bosses’, ‘Edaa’ and ‘Àkàsò’.
