Veteran Nollywood actor, Dejumo Lewis, has died at the age of 80.
His passing was confirmed by a fellow actor, Saidi Balogun, in a post on his Instagram account on Saturday.
Balogun, who shared a photo of the veteran actor, wrote, “Good night Dejumo Lewis, may your soul rest in perfect peace, RIP.”

Although Balogun did not disclose the reason for Lewis’s passing, a number of admirers and former coworkers of the late actor sent heartfelt comments on his post.
Famous for his Kabiyesi role in Nigeria’s longest-running television soap opera, The Village Headmaster, which aired on NTA from 1968 to 1988 and starring the late Justus Esiri and Femi Robinson, was Dejumo Lewis, a Nigerian actor who worked in both film and television.
Lewis, who was born in Lagos State, Nigeria in 1943, demonstrated his acting prowess in a number of other Nigerian soap operas and motion pictures before to his passing.
