WATCH: Nigerian Lady Attempting 72-hour Massage to Break World Record Collapses

A Nigerian lady has collapsed while attempting to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest massage on different individuals.

More Nigerians have been giving the Guinness World Record a shot since after Hilda Baci, the chef, edged out her predecessor to set a new GWR time for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Joyce Ijeoma began her three-day attempt to set the new world record for the longest massage on different individuals on July 1.

Ijeoma, however, collapsed at the event venue in the Lekki area of Lagos state on Tuesday morning.

The young lady, her timer showed, had already achieved a total of 53 hours when her body gave in at around 1 am.

A female third party, in a clip from the GWR attempt, hurried in to resuscitate her.

As of this report, Ijeoma’s live video of the GWR attempt had already been cut.

The current record for the world’s longest massage is held by Alastair Galpin. The South African man completed the task in 25 hours and 4 minutes in Indonesia in 2015.

Earlier, Hilda Baci pulled off a 100-hour attempt to set a record for the longest cooking marathon.

The chef challenged the record of 87 hours 45 minutes previously set by Lata Tondon, an Indian, in 2019.

Baci, after days of vetting by GWR, was certified to have instead set a 93-hour record.

Explaining the deficit, GWR said Baci mistakenly took extra minutes in one of her breaks.

Shortly after, Damilola Adeparusi, another chef, started her cooking marathon for a five-day stint.

Then came Adeyeye Adeola who also attempted to upturn Baci’s record in a 150-hour spell.

GWR tasks have since become the trend, with more Nigerians mouthing their interest in setting a record.
