Paul Adeolu Adefarasin is a minister, Bible teacher, and televangelist. He is the Prelate and Metropolitan Pastor of the House on the Rock congregations, which include branches in Port Harcourt, Abuja, Johannesburg, South Africa, and London, United Kingdom. Additionally, he organizes and hosts The Experience Gospel Concert.

Early Life and Education

On January 25, 1963, in Ijebu Ode, Nigeria, Paul Adefarasin was born to Joseph Adefarasin, a Nigerian High Court judge, and Hilda Adefarasin, a Jamaican and women’s rights activist from Lagos State. He is the younger brother of well-known Nigerian Christian ministers Rev. Wale Adefarasin and Apostle Yemi Adefarasin. He was born in Nigeria and raised in the United States.

Adefarasin attended to Ikoyi’s St Saviour’s School and Yaba’s Igbobi College. He finished his secondary school at Haileybury College in England. He later earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Miami. The International Bible Institute of London also awarded him a Diploma in Christian Ministry.

Career

Paul Adefarasin worked as an architect for Baldwin, Sackman, and Carrington Architects in Florida. He was a drug addict until his repentance in 1994. He attended the International Bible Institute of London after his conversion. He began as a volunteer, and after that, he became the pastor of Action Chapel in London.

Pastor Paul Adefarasin founded the House on the Rock Church in his mother’s living room in Lagos in 1994, with a few attendees. Today, the living room church has grown into a Ministry with over 50 branches in Africa and Europe.

As a visionary, he obeyed the leading of God to start the Lagos Experience Gospel Musical Concert and the program was first produced in 2006. The Lagos Experience has become a landmark event that draws gospel music greats of this age.  The concert has hosted gospel artists such as Travis Greene, Sinach, Nathaniel Bassey, Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Tope Alabi, Planetshakers, Chioma Jesus, Eben, Onos, Sammie Okposo, Todd Dulaney, Mercy Chinwo and many others.

Personal life

In June 1995, Pastor Paul Adefarasin is married to Ifeanyi Adefarasin (born September 16th 1972), a former beauty queen and now a respected minister and conference speaker well known for her clear and practical message of hope and empowerment. Together, they have three children. He has direct access and mentoring from his spiritual father, Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Pastor Adefarasin produced a music album in 2011. It was a collaboration work with Nigerian musicians such as Niki Laoye, Segun Obe, Sammie Okposo, and Saxophonist Mike Aremu.

 Impacts and Influence

He started the Rock Foundation which collaborates with the church for social and humanitarian services like rehabilitation and empowerment of ex-convicts, urban miscreants, prostitutes, and drug addicts. Formerly a drug addict himself, he is well motivated to preach against all social vices that bedevil humanity. He is well known for his publicly aired programme Something is about to happen.

Adefarasin has written, authored, and self-published over 20 motivational Christian mini-books and multimedia resources. Three of his books have been published by Christian book publishers and distributors.
