Tawa Ajisefini, also known as Monkele, is a Nigerian actress, film producer, and brand influencer based in the United States. Tawa’s distinct acting technique is well-known in the Yoruba film industry.
Early Life & Education
Tawa Ajisefini was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, on March 7, 1970. She is the youngest of four children born into a four-child family in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. She is from Osun, a state in southwest Nigeria. She received her primary schooling at Eleyele Police Children School. She eventually transferred to Our Lady of Apostle Secondary School in Ibadan. She also has a degree in Theatre Arts, which she chose because she has previously mastered the practical part.
Career
Tawa Ajisefini first began performing in high school. In 2003, she made the decision to enter the Nollywood sector, and it paid handsomely. She enrolled in and graduated from the Ojopagogo Film School in 2006.
Tawa began her career in the Nigerian entertainment industry as a personal assistant to a well-known Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele. She has participated in various Nollywood films over the years, including ‘Okun Ife Yi,’ in which she co-starred with famed performers Funke Akindele, Funsho Adeolu, Adebayo Faleti, and Feso Oyewole, among others, and ‘Opin Ireti.’
