Who Is Tekno Miles? Biography and Relationship Of Nigerian Singer

Augustine Miles Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno or Alhaji Tekno, is a Nigerian producer, singer, dancer, and songwriter. He was raised in a musically fascinating household; his father plays the guitar, so he began learning at a young age as well. Tekno is a well-known Nigerian artist who has released a number of albums lately. He was discovered by Julius Agwu, a popular comedian.

Early Life and Education

He was born on December 17, 1990, in Bauchi State into a family of six, consisting of five boys and one girl. He is from Ivo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State. Due to the fact that his father served in the Nigerian Army, he was raised across the nation, notably in Nassarawa, Kaduna, and Abuja. Tekno Miles started attending a music school when he was eight years old, where he developed the fundamentals of playing the piano and guitar. He is Spotless’ older brother, a member of another Nigerian musical group.

He attended Heritage School, Kaduna for his secondary education. He had all his education in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Career

Tekno Miles’ initial contract was with K-Money Entertainment. The imprint saw the debut of “Holiday,” his breakthrough song, which featured Davido on vocals, was well received and got a tonne of exposure.

Tekno Miles gained a standing ovation for his performance of “Onye Ne Kwu,” his remix of Ice Prince’s “Oleku,” in 2012, and Julius Agwu, a well-known Nigerian comedian, noticed him there. He made friends with Iyanya and Made Men Music Group manager Ubi Franklyn on the same occasion. Tekno Miles was finally compelled by Ubi and Iyanya to relocate to Lagos in order to advance his musical career.

He entered into a recording agreement with Made Men Music Group (MMMG) on October 5, 2013, and as a result, hits including “Dance” and “Anything” were released. He received a nomination for “Best New Act of the Year” at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards because of these singles. “Duro” earned favourable reviews both in Africa and the US. On November 16, 2015, a remix with Phyno and Flavour N’abania was made available. On the international stage, it peaked at number 5 on Capital XTRA’s Afrobeats Chart. It topped a number of charts in Nigeria. Tekno Miles put out a song called “Wash” on November 20.

However, DJ Cuppy included Tekno in a song called “Green Light” on October 13, 2017, making it DJ Cuppy’s debut single. Tekno was revealed as one of the producers of Swae Lee and Drake’s song “Won’t Be Late” on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

Tekno inked a distribution agreement with UK-based Island Records and Universal Music Group Nigeria (UMGN), a branch of Universal Music Group responsible for West Africa, in June 2018.

Tekno appeared in the song “Don’t Jealous Me” from Beyoncé’s “Lion King”: The Gift soundtrack in July 2019. He unveiled the tracklist for his eagerly anticipated debut album, Old Romance, on December 6, 2020.

Personal Life

Tekno is in a relationship with Rachel Akosua Garton, also known as Lola Rae, a singer and dancer. In May 2018, they welcomed a child.

Tekno made the announcement that he would be moving to the United States in 2020. This was in response to the June 2 announcement that a proposal to rename Nigeria as the United African Republic, or the United Alkebulan Republic, had been made to the Nigerian National Assembly.

In 2017, Tekno revealed to the public that he suffers from acid reflux. His vocal cords were impacted by the disease, which had gotten more difficult. He required surgery to address the problem.

 

Relocation

In 2021, Tekno announced that he has moved out of the country and is now based in the United States.

The singer, who made the announcement in a video via his Instagram account on Sunday, revealed that he left Nigeria because the country’s name was “changed” to UAR.

He however said that he would only return when the name ‘goes back’ to Nigeria.
