Why I Can’t Marry a Man Living on Lagos Mainland – BBNaija’s Doyin

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Doyin David claims she is unable to wed a man who resides in the Lagos mainland.

Lagos is separated into an island and a mainland. While the mainland of the state is home to numerous other LGAs in the state, the island is home to important locations like Lekki, Victoria Island, and Ikoyi.

Doyin stated that her spouse needs to be thoughtful, compassionate, and “someone that is giving” in a recent interview with Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television.

Because “everything that I do is situated on the island,” the reality star claimed she is unable to marry a man who resides on the mainland.

“What is important to me is someone considerate. If you have a considerate partner, they think about you before every action that they take,” she said.

“They think about how it affects you, and how it is going to affect the family, which is very important. So, someone that is considerate, someone that is kind, someone that is giving. I am not about that broke life. That is just the truth.

“I do not live on the mainland. I do not think there is anything bad about living on the mainland. If I am going to date you, you are going to have to move to the island. Just because that is what I am used to. It is also closer to everything I do. Absolutely, he will move to the island.

“I am not going to move to the mainland. That is just me If he really wants somebody that would live on the mainland, he could find himself another wife. But that is not going to be me.”

Doyin, however, said she is open to another option; which is moving to a central location with her man.

“We are going to find a place that is central for both of us. Because most of the things I do everything that I do is situated on the island,” she said.

“It will be strange for me to now pack my whole life and move to the mainland because I am getting married.

“I am not going to do that. And that is not because I do not respect my husband, it is just because let us do something that works for both of us.

“If we can find a middle ground. Maybe somewhere that is both accessible for us.”
