Wizkid, a Grammy winner, has started distributing “N100 million to kids” for Christmas.
In a series of Instagram posts on Monday, the Afrobeats musician said the resolution was in memory of his late mother, Jane Balogun.
The ‘Essence’ hitmaker also revealed that he will begin distributing monies to children on Monday night, beginning in Surulere.
“100M for the kids for Christmas! Lord bless us all start in Surulere tonight! All in Morayo’s name! The love of my life! ❤️❤️🕊️,” the singer wrote.
The singer lost his mum in August. She was also buried the following month.
Muniru Olatunji Balogun, her husband, and four children survive Jane, who was born on July 14, 1957.
Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun are her children.
Wizkid was born on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, Nigeria, to a Muslim father and a Christian mother.
Wizkid disclosed in a 2012 radio interview with Tim Westwood that his father has three wives.
The artist is known for his strong love for his mother, which he demonstrated in his 2014 song ‘Mummy Mi,’ which he dedicated to moms all across the world.
Wizkid is one of the most well-known names in African music, having received numerous awards and honorary mentions.
Last month, the multi-award-winning singer revealed that he is taking a five-year break from music.
