112 Bag First Class As FUDMA Set To Convocate 4,365 Students

One hundred and twelve students from Katsina State’s Federal University Dutsin-Ma have received first-class degrees.

This was said by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Armaya’u Bichi, at a news conference held on Thursday in the Senate Chamber of the school ahead of its 7th and 8th combined convocation.

He estimates that the school will graduate 4,365 undergraduate students. 1,131 pupils received second class higher, 2,476 received second class lower, and 646 received third class.

The institution will graduate 401 post-graduate students for the first time at the convocation. 11 students received PhDs, 168 received academic master’s degrees, 75 received Professional Diplomas, Post Graduate Diplomas, and Professional Masters, and 149 received Post Graduate Diplomas.

On Friday, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril will deliver the convocation address, he said. Former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, the Emir of Daura, HRH Umar Umar, and the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Bayero, will be awarded with honorary degrees at the occasion.

According to Professor Bichi, the pre-convocation lecture will also be conducted on Friday at the University Auditorium, Take-Off Campus, with the title Harnessing the Power of Education, Technology, and Innovation in Tackling Insecurity.
