‘Timeless’, the fourth album by Davido, the Afrobeats singer, has made Billboard’s ’50 best albums of 2023′ list.
In the list released on Wednesday, Davido clinched the 39th spot.
‘Timeless’ was released on March 31. The album housed 17 tracks.
Billboard hailed the album and described it as the best of Davido’s career.
“What Davido achieves on Timeless truly lives up to his acclaim,” the magazine wrote.
“Davido delivers one of the best bodies of work from this past year, and certainly the best of his career.
“Simply put, Timeless is a triumph and a landmark album in the global explosion of Afrobeats.”
Since the album’s release, ‘Timeless’ has received millions of streams across global music platforms.
The album debuted at number 37 on the Billboard 200 chart in April.
In the same month, the body of work achieved a first-day streaming record for an African album on Apple Music.
On November 10, the album garnered Davido his first Grammy nomination for 2024.
Davido’s career started off in 2011 with the release of his debut hit, “Dami Duro.”
The musician has established himself as one of the main figures in the African music industry, having received a slew of prizes and honorary mentions.
