Funke Akindele, the actress-turned-politician, has removed all political posts from her Instagram account.
HowNG checked her Instagram page on Monday and discovered that the actress had deleted all of her campaign posts on the photo and video-sharing social networking service.
During the March 18 gubernatorial election, Akindele was the running mate of Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos.
The PDP, on the other hand, lost the poll to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the current governor and All Progressive Congress candidate (APC).
Sanwo-Olu was re-elected governor of Lagos for a second term after receiving 762,134 votes.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) came second with 312,329 votes, while Jandor trailed in third place with 62,449 votes.
HowNG previously reported that the PDP’s deputy governorship candidate in Lagos, Ikorodu, lost by a significant margin against Sanwo-Olu.
In her polling unit, the Ikorodu-born actress also lost to the governor.
The actress confirmed her nomination as the PDP’s Lagos state deputy governorship candidate in July 2022.
Akindele also stated that she entered politics to give hope to the masses, particularly women and children.
In December, the actress said that her recent movie, ‘Battle On Buka Street,’ was her last.
She also stated that she has “passed the baton of production” to the industry’s young people in order to focus on her political ambitions.
