BREAKING: Super Falcons Qualify For Olympics First Time In 16 Years

The Super Falcons have qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Nigeria defeated South Africa 1-0 on aggregate to qualify for the Summer Olympics.

Rasheedat Ajibade scored from the spot in the first leg of the qualifiers on Friday in Abuja.

That goal was enough for the Super Falcons to secure one of Africa’s tickets to the Paris Olympics’ women’s football event, since the second leg tie in South Africa ended goalless.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons last competed at the Olympics 16 years ago.

Both teams have met multiple times since their 7-1 victory over South Africa in a 1995 World Cup qualifier in Johannesburg. Nigeria has won 15 of their 24 meetings, five of which were drawn, and South Africa has won four.
